FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Northumberland County, ON – Aug. 17, 2023 – We are thrilled to invite you to join us for the return of Annual ‘Hike, Bike and Bark for Hospice’ event on Sunday, October 1st, 2023 at 9 a.m. in Victoria Park, Cobourg!

This year, is a one-day event designed to bring our community together to celebrate, remember and raise funds for the Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre Foundation.

The Foundation’s purpose is to raise funds to support the operation of Community Care Northumberland’s hospice service programs in our community including the Palliative Care Community Team and Volunteer Hospice Visiting program which operate alongside the 24/7 end-of-life care provided at Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre, all offered at no cost to the client.

This year, Hike, Bike and Bark for Hospice is all about flexibility and fun!

Whether you’re an individual, a family, or a team, you can be part of this incredible journey. Choose your activity – hike, bike, or walk your furry friend. We’ll have a 1km and 5km route to choose from! Plus, we’re excited to be back in charming Victoria Park, Cobourg!

After the success of our hybrid event in past years, we are excited to announce that participants can now collect their registration kits on the day of the event. Sign in and registration starts at 9am! Each kit includes a snazzy t-shirt, a scrumptious cookie from Roda’s Kitchen, and other goodies & surprises!

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our signature sponsors, Tina Hubicki and Lee Caswell of Bosley Real Estate Ltd., as well as our community sponsors. Your unwavering support fuels our mission.

Trish Baird, CEO, Community Care Northumberland says, “This event holds a special place in our hospice community hearts as a long standing fundraising and awareness event.  Supporting people and their families in the community who are facing a life limiting illness is key to offering a full spectrum of hospice services.”
