As I reach the 90-day mark in my role as Chief Executive Officer of Community Care Northumberland, I want to take a moment to reflect on what has already been an inspiring start.

Over the past three months, my primary focus has been listening, learning and connecting. I have had the privilege of meeting many of our dedicated staff, passionate volunteers, clients and community partners. These conversations have reinforced what makes Community Care Northumberland so special: a deep commitment to supporting people, strengthening communities and ensuring that individuals across Northumberland County can live well and age with dignity.

What has stood out most during these early days is how strongly our values are reflected in the work happening across the organization every day. The value of Relationships is evident in the way staff, volunteers and partners truly collaborate and support one another. I have witnessed a strong sense of Compassion in the care and respect shown to every client we serve. Our commitment to Community is clear through the partnerships and connections that allow us to reach people across the county. And through it all, there is a strong sense of Accountability; a shared dedication to delivering high-quality services and ensuring that those who rely on us receive the support they need.

I want to express my sincere appreciation to our staff and volunteers whose dedication and professionalism make this work possible. The impact of your efforts is felt every day by the people and families we serve. I would also like to extend heartfelt thanks to our clients and community partners. Your trust, collaboration, and feedback are essential to the strength of our organization and the services we provide.

Looking ahead, there are exciting opportunities on the horizon. As we continue to build on the strong foundation already in place, we will soon begin preparing for the development of our next strategic plan that takes us in 2027 and beyond. This will be an important engagement opportunity to ensure that the future direction of Community Care Northumberland reflects the needs and priorities of the communities we serve.

It is truly an honour to be part of this organization and I am excited about what we will accomplish together.
