Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre Foundation is excited to announce that tickets for the 7th Annual Handbags for Hospice go on sale on Thursday, February 19, 2026. This signature event returns on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the Best Western Plus Cobourg Inn & Convention Centre. Tickets are $125 each.
A community favourite with a fresh twist, this year’s re-imagined Handbags for Hospice brings new energy while keeping the elements guests know and love. Attendees can look forward to the Golden Ticket Draw, photobooth, candy bar, mystery bags, wine wall, and a live auction, with an exciting new feature. For the first time ever, guests will be able to browse and bid on silent auction items right from their phones using a new online bidding platform, making it easier than ever to join the fun and support hospice care.
The evening’s excitement continues with the addition of Layne, The Auctionista, who will lead the powerful “Gift from the Heart” portion of the evening. Layne is a keynote speaker, author, and fundraising powerhouse who’s redefined what giving looks like across North America. With over 1,700 events and more than $70 million charitable dollars raised directly by Layne, they blend unstoppable energy, quick wit, and motivational storytelling to create spaces where everyone feels seen, connected, and inspired to give big.
Every dollar raised helps the care teams at Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre provide essential services such as Volunteer Hospice support, In-Home Visiting Hospice, Education, Grief and Bereavement, Counselling, and end-of-life care in their 10-suite hospice residence – all offered at no cost to the families they serve.
Tickets will be available for purchase at www.handbagsforhospice.ca beginning February 19, 2026.
“Handbags for Hospice is a powerful example of what happens when a community comes together with heart and purpose,” said Jordan Prosper, CEO of Community Care Northumberland. “Every handbag helps ensure individuals and families in Northumberland County receive compassionate, dignified hospice care when they need it most.”
The Foundation extends sincere thanks to the generous sponsors of this year’s event, including Jacqueline Pennington of RE/MAX Hallmark, Presenting Sponsor, and Tony Pulla of RE/MAX Rouge River Realty Ltd., Gift from the Heart Sponsor.
