Ed & Diane Lorenz

In June of 2018, it was announced that the new hospice facility would be named Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre after a generous donation from Ed and Diane Lorenz.

Ed and Diane Lorenz have been residents of Cobourg for over 50 years, dedicated members of the community and successful business people. Together with their son, Peter, they established Lorenz Conveying Products. Ed is a past President of the Rotary Club of Cobourg and has been a member of the Club for over 30 years. Diane has received her 50-year pin for the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.  For 10 years Diane was a member and Chair of the Cobourg and District Hospital Board.

“Ed and I believe that people deserve to die with dignity – no matter what walk of life they come from. Death is not always happy or easy,” said Diane. “Hospice care is good for the present and future generations – it may even help change the attitude towards death and dying.”

“It sure takes a special person to do this kind of work,” said Ed Lorenz. “We see the importance of dedicated palliative care.”

Community Care Northumberland thanks Ed and Diane Lorenz for their generous support, along with our many donors who have enabled Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre to become a reality.
